Post-Odette: 500 Families Receive Relief Aid From IPI
What comes after a disaster is often the most challenging.
Last December 16, 2021, just a few days before Christmas and the New Year, Typhoon Odette (international name ‘Rai’) devastated the island of Cebu and several areas in Visayas and Mindanao.
The people living in these places were severely affected, as houses, trees, and infrastructure were left battered by the typhoon’s wrath.
Scenes of the aftermath were something straight out of a disaster film: wrecked homes, fallen trees, power outage, people lining up for essential goods, to name a few. Most can only weep or are left speechless of the uncertainty.
But despite the circumstances, the spirit of bayanihan never faltered.
Many individuals, local government units (LGUs), malls, non-government organizations (NGOs), and companies made efforts to bring essential goods and services to affected families and communities.
The International Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (IPI) was one of those who responded.
Victims of Typhoon ‘Odette’ receive aid from IPI.
In partnership with IPI Foundation, Inc., IPI launched a relief operation on December 29, 2021, in Barangay Kasambagan Gym and Barangay Tingub Gym for Typhoon Odette victims living near IPI facilities.

With the help of IPI personnel and staff, 500 packs of grocery items, including rice and canned goods, were packed and distributed to typhoon survivors in barangays Kasambagan and Tingub – two areas in Cebu that IPI also calls home.
A total of 500 families benefited from this relief drive, and just in time as New Year was only two days away.
These challenges are not entirely impossible to overcome when people continue to lend a helping hand. In situations like the aftermath of a typhoon, the call for compassion takes precedence.
As a company that values the well-being of every individual, IPI continues to embody its reason for being, and that is to take care of people.
